Romantic Editorial Wedding Inspiration at Marchwiel Hall, Wrexham
In December last year on a fresh snowy day, I spent the day photographing a beautiful editorial shoot at Marchwiel Hall, just outside Wrexham. It’s a place I’d been wanting to shoot at as it’s now on my doorstep and it’s an elegant, tucked-away country house that feels grand but totally serene at the same time.
The aim of the shoot was to explore how Marchwiel Hall could host a variety of wedding styles, and we created a series of looks across different areas of the house and gardens. From fashion-led bridalwear to soft, romantic tablescapes, every setup showed off a different side to the venue and how versatile it is for couples wanting something both stylish and personal.
Marchwiel Hall is a privately owned country estate with an abundance of beautiful grounds, sweeping views, walled gardens, and characterful interiors. It has that rare mix of charm and polish: traditional architecture, landscaped gardens, and interiors full of natural light and period details. Whether you’re planning a spring garden wedding or an intimate autumn gathering inside, the spaces here work in every season.
As a photographer, I loved the soft light that filtered through the house and the variety of backdrops just steps away from each other. From manicured lawns to tucked-away woodland paths, every spot felt like a potential portrait location.
We styled a mix of ceremony setups, tablescapes, and portraits across both indoor and outdoor areas of the venue. The amazing creative team pulled together a soft, romantic aesthetic, while still keeping things clean and editorial.
It was one of those shoots where everything aligned - the light, the styling, the setting and it’s a space I’d love to return to for a real wedding soon.

If you’re looking for a venue that feels elegant, private, and full of possibility, Marchwiel Hall is definitely worth a visit. It offers a more personal and exclusive feel than many large venues, and works beautifully for both indoor and outdoor celebrations. I can only imagine how gorgeous it would be across a full wedding day.
