Greenwich Engagement Session with Nick and Victoria

Let me take you back to a warm April day, and that first sense of summer is in the air. I had 9 hours of driving ahead of me that day, as I was heading down (and back) to London for Nick and Victoria’s engagement shoot. Now, I love driving and this long trip was actually a treat after so long being stuck in my hometown of Bala. To make things even better, BBC Radio 6 Music was hosting a day-long 00’s music throwback…I couldn’t believe my luck! Can we all agree that the late 00’s was a golden age for indie music? Maximo Park, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, CSS, Crystal Castles…the list goes on!

I’d not been in London for over a year and I had missed it SO much. This wasn’t my first time in Greenwich but it was great to have the guidance of Nick and Victoria who live locally, and it was great to get an insight into this beautiful part of London with it’s rich history and small town vibe. These two from the countryside of Cheshire have definitely settled well into city life in London and I can understand why they chose lush Greenwich.

We explored The Old Royal Naval College, a beautiful building with wonderful architecture. I love shooting in spaces like this as it gives a sense of another world, full of elegance. Victoria practices ballet, so I was keen for her and Nick to do a little trial run of their first dance ahead of their wedding later this month! Can we also take a moment to swoon over Victoria’s stunning Claudie Pierlot dress?!

On we went to walk along the paths of Greenwich Park with its gorgeous greenery and first flowers of spring. I learnt that this area is used A LOT for films…I was shown the house from Bridgerton as well as areas used for Sherlock!

It was so amazing spend the day with this lovely couple and I can't wait to be back with them shooting their wedding in Portmeirion very soon.
