Huw & Dilwen – A Rustic Wedding in North Wales
So, I am well and truly stuck in the middle of wedding season (yes, September is THE month to get married this year!) and while I’m absolutely loving it, my blog has had to take a back seat for a month or so.
But, I really wanted to share the lovely Huw and Dilwen’s amazing wedding at Capel Gellifor and Ruthin Farmers Auction House, Ruthin back in July. This was the very first wedding to be held at the auction house, and I LOVE the way Huw and Dilwen filled the space with soft pastel pinks, warm festoon lighting and plenty of rustic details. Both come from an agricultural background so this setting complimented this perfectly.
When I first met Huw and Dilwen, I clicked immediately with them because of their laid back approach to the wedding, with a strong emphasis on a relaxed wedding with all their friends and family to witness. For the first time I got to see the cake-cutting at the chapel rather than at the reception, a fab idea as everybody can actually see you cut it! We saw the local Young Farmers and choir members turn up to create a surprise welcome arch for the couple, as well as the farm’s goats greeting us as we went to shoot some portraits on the farm, something I got way too excited for as goats are one of my favourite animals! This was a truly lovely and surprise-filled wedding that was just so full of happiness and a pleasure to photograph.
